It has been 3 weeks since Windows 10 is knocking on our laptop screens. Being as a free upgrade, Windows 10 has proved its power in just a few days. According to the folks at Neowin, Windows 10 has hit 53 million downloads. Consumers from all around the world are leaving positive reviews regarding the OS and if we compare Windows 10 with Apple OS, it has already beat the install base of Apple's most recent OS X.
According to Statcounter, Windows 10 accounts for 4.95% of the market as of last week. According to NetMarketshare, Windows 8.1 had 13.09% of the market at the end of July, and OS X 10.10 had 4.74% of the market. Windows 10 first milestone was just 14 million in the initial launch days, but after 2 week it jumped to 53 million which is very fast, but still you cannot compare the Windows 10 adoption rate to that of Windows 7 and Windows 8, although these operating systems were premium and Windows 10 is free.
This new tactic of Microsoft giving away free OS upgrade finally paid off. as many people praised and liked the new features in Windows 10. Lets see when Microsoft posts its next milestone.
