T-Mobile’s CEO Thinks Wearable Will become more mainstream after the Launch of Apple Watch

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch isn’t launched yet, but if the rumors going around are true, then it might even just launch in next two months. Now the question is after the launch how the Apple watch will impact the market? Well, the CEO of T-Mobile thinks that Apple Watch will give wearables a boost and will make them more mainstream in the future.  As said by John Legere, “I love what Jawbone, Fitbit, Samsung, LG, Microsoft and others are doing in the wearables space. But we haven’t begun to see the potential of this category. It’s going to go from $1 to $20 billion in the next few years. And though we won’t see its full impact in 2015, I believe that the Apple Watch will mark the tipping point when wearables go from niche to mainstream.”

We can guess why Legere is thinking of such scenario, as Apple has also helped make many other product categories mainstream by entering that specific market. For example, Tablets and Smartphones both existed long before Apple came but after Apple joining the Market they suddenly became more mainstream. So it can also be said for Apple Watch that with its launch wearables will also become more mainstream. However, it should be noted that Apple Watch is quite pricey as compared to its competitors with a starting price of $350. Though Apple is marketing the watch as a Luxury watch so such price tag might work.

T-Mobile Demanded Sprint $1 Billion Break Up Fee If Sprint T-Mobile Deal Goes Off

After the unsuccessful acquisition deal between AT&T and T-Mobile, Sprint showed interest in buying T-Mobile, but today's news indicates that history is repeating itself. When AT&T and T-Mobile deal was fall through, T-Mobile charged AT&T $3 Billion break up fee, now AT&T has made forward its statement first to Sprint and has demanded that if the Sprint T-Mobile deal went off , T-Mobile will charge Sprint $1 Billion breakup fee. Although the deal is still in progress and official statement from the officials has not came yet, but T-Mobile wants to secure this deal and putting up his demand before the official results proves that T-Mobile do not want this deal to Go-Off like with AT&T.

T-mobile demand sprint $1 billion breakup fee

Sprint new owner "Softbank" has expressed his unhappiness with this demand from T-Mobile and stated that he would like to avoid this fee if it could be helped. Aside from big bulk breakup fee , T-Mobile also wants some major management holds in the deal and stated that if the deal went successful , John Legree , CEO of T-Mobile will be tasked to run the Sprint T-Mobile merger.

The reason why AT&T and T-Mobile merge was disapproved was due to less availability of carrier choice for customers. According to FTC and FCC, If the deal is approved customers will only have 3 choices left to choose from. According to them, Customers should have more choice of carriers to choose from and that's how a competition game begins.

Dish Network Chairman has openly stated that the company would consider a bid on T-Mobile if things do not work out with Sprint. This is because Dish Network does not have the resources that Sprint does to get into a bidding war with the company. Share you views in the comments below if you think this deal should go On or Off.

T-Mobile CEO Thinks AT&Ts $450 Credit Offer Is Due To Company’s Poor Performance During Holiday Season

Earlier we published about an interesting offer from AT&T, which was giving $450 credit to customers who switch thier network from T-Mobile to AT&T, after seeing this offer T-Mobile CEO John Legere is not too pleased about this. According to him, AT&Ts new offer is due to company’s poor performance in the holiday season which has left the company now to steal the customers from other companies, but Legere has something more productive and big which the carrier will unveil at CES 2014 which will be held next week. T-Mobile CEO Legere wrote on twitter, “ “#Randall – you gave us cash & spectrum AND we took your customers with #Uncarrier moves, do you really think you can buy them back?”.  John Legere said that the big announcement at CES 2014 will be strong enough to destroy the competition.

This is what the Executive Statement from T-Mobile said,
This is a desperate move by AT&T on the heels of what must have been a terrible Q4 and holiday for them. I'm flattered that we have made them so uncomfortable! We used AT&T's cash to build a far superior network and added Un-carrier moves to take tons of their customers - and now they want to bribe them back! Consumers won't be fooled...nothing has changed; customers will still feel the same old pain that AT&T is famous for. Just wait until CES to hear what pain points we are eliminating next. The competition is going to be toast!.

AT&T Offering T-Mobile Customers $450 For Switching Thier Service To Its Network

There was a time when AT&T was interested in T-Mobile and wants to buy the company for $39 billion, but now AT&T do not want T-Mobile to come close to it. AT&T wants to destroy T-Mobile by stealing all its valuable customers. AT&T today announced an offer for T-Mobile customers that will force them to switch their network from T-Mobile to AT&T. Company announced that, it will offer T-Mobile customers up to $450 per line to jump from their service to AT&T. It will give customers $200 credit for every line they transfer from T-Mobile and if the customers trade-in their smartphones, AT&T will give customers a promotion card of up to $250. The promotion card amount will be based on the type of device , its age and quality, but At&T has not mentioned what devices might reach the mark of $250. Customers can use the promotion card of $250 for paying their wireless bill or buy some AT&T product or services only.

AT&T will give T-Mobile customers $450 to switch their service to AT&T

It is still unclear that why AT&T is planning against T-Mobile, some are suggesting that it might the result of the rumor suggesting that T-Mobile was secretly unveiling the same offer at the upcoming CES 2014 that would steal AT&T customers, But AT&T took a smart move and used the same offer against T-Mobile, but here the question arises , Is T-Mobile strong enough to create a pressure on AT&T, which the company felt from the rumor?

T-Mobile To Discontinue 2 Year Contract Plans And Start Offering iPhone

The cold war between the three big guys Verizon,T-Mobile and AT&T are always center of the attention. Every now and then they are offering cool offers to make them on the top of the list. Yesterday, It came to our knowledge that company might ditch two-year contract plans and start offering iPhone on regular plan in which customer will be charged full price of the phone payable over two years in monthly installments. T-Mobile said it has been loosing subscribers from its contract-based plans to the other two big guys Verizon and AT&T. T-Mobile has done better with no contract phones in the last year but those plans aren't profitable.

The new plan is somewhat similar like prepaid plans which has low monthly fees and the buyer has to pay full price of the phone and customers could save money in the long run.

T-Mobile discontinue 2 year contract plan bring in regular prepaid plans s
Someone who wants a Samsung Galaxy S III would pay $70 upfront and then $90 per month for unlimited calling, texting, and data. That monthly fee includes $20 to pay off the cost of the phone over two years.
When the phone is paid off, the $20 fee in that example disappears. On traditional contract-based plans, the buyer is deemed to have ‘‘paid off’’ the phone after a certain period of time and become eligible for a new, subsidized phone, but the monthly payments don’t decline.
Quote IconThe initial phone-buying experience won’t be much different from what it’s like for contract plans, but customers could save money in the long run.
The customers will be not need to sign a contract and will be offered voice, data and texting plans that sharply undercut competitors. If customers even leave the company they will still be liable to pay whatever they owe on the phone.

Federal regulators have also approved a merger between T-Mobile and MetroPCS which means that the two companies will work together now and will compete to the leading firms. T-Mobile is the fourth largest carrier in the USA among Verizon,At&T and Sprint. To be on the top it has to be super like Verizon which is the biggest network in the USA. Well MetroPCS and T-Mobile can prove this and leave behind Verizon in the coming future.
