FlightCar – Airport Car Sharing Startup let You Earn $400 Per-Month Through Your Car

An airport car rental service FlightCar has launched a new program called FlightCar Monthly that keeps the user’s car for a month at a time and rent them then out to travelers at either Boston’s Logan International or San Francisco International Airport. The company’s aim is to reduce the city parking problems caused by those idle cars which can be used by other travelers.



Company CEO Rujul Zaparde said in a statement:

“FlightCar launched as the first company to tackle airport congestion and over-priced airport parking and car rentals for travelers, and then we realized local residents who lived downtown were using FlightCar just so they wouldn’t have to pay garage fees or deal with street cleaning.”

How It Works

How to work with FlightCar Monthly is simple easy. If you have car which is not being used or you are going abroad for a month , you can submit your car to FlightCar service though an online form submission. FlightCar will pick it up and host it in their free secure parking facility. For 30 days you car can be rented out to other travelers. If you want to use you car for some emergency , you can freely use your car for up to four days and if your car is out for rent , FlightCar will manage another car that’s of equal size or larger.
In the event that the owner wishes to use their car, they can make their way to the airport and a FlightCar driver will pick them up and take them to their car — but one hour notice is required . On the other hand, with five hours notice, the vehicle can be brought to the owner by a company employee. It will cost you $20 for either pick-up method and is automatically deducted from your monthly earnings.

How Much Can You Earn With Your Car

Earning with FlightCar will highly depend on the type of automobile you have and how new it is. You can make in between $150 to $400 per month with FlightCar Monthly. FlightCar looking for some expansion in the upcoming months and planning to open up in Los Angeles in fall 2013.  FlightCar has raised $6.1 million in funding from investors like General Catalyst, Softbank Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, SV Angel, Ryan Seacrest, and founders of Airbnb and Reddit.
