‘Gravity’ Blast Box Office With The Record Of $55 Million October Launch

Alfonso Cuarón's outer space survival thriller Gravity has break the records for the October launch. In a record-setting debut, Warner Bros.’ 3D space epic “Gravity” scored a mark of $55 million in just 2 days.  The all time budget which was spent  on the movie was about $80 million and after seeing this tremendous response from the audience and critics , it is estimated that the movie has already covered its 70 percent budget and  could break many records. The movie has already been a hit with critics and is gaining a great response from the audience as well. On its first day , the movie managed to score $17.5 million which speeds up the pace of movie for $50 million range.

Gravity movie became hit

The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney were stranded astronauts in the movie and gravity is the third best direction of Cuarón's career, after Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This movie has become the best opening movie for both of its stars. Internationally , “Gravity” did a business of $27.4 million from 27 markets which includes Russia, which gave $8.1 million , Germany and Australia which gave almost $3 million together.

It's also a surprising victory for 3D. A typical movie would do about half its box office total in 3D screenings, but Gravity took in 80 percent from 3D tickets, suggesting moviegoers will still pay for a well-crafted 3D experience. It also took in 20 percent of its total in IMAX theaters, something IMAX Entertainment president Greg Foster linked to the format's history of educational space films. "A lot of people who grew up going to see IMAX space documentaries like Space Station and Hubble 3D made the connection to see this film also in IMAX," Foster told Variety.

This movie has become a great box office opening hit, and has been added to the position of 111 under all-time box office hits. if you haven’t watched the movie yet , so grab your tickets at your nearest 3D theater and enjoy the movie. Below is the trailer of the movie.
