Gmail App For Android Reached 1 Billion Downloads

When we talk about the best electronic mail service on the internet, Hotmail and Gmail are the top email services on in the internet. But it seems like on the Android Platform, Gmail service has reached a milestone. Today we have some stats which reports that Gmail app for Android platform has got more than 1 billion downloads and they are still counting on daily basis. Majority of the people rely on email apps on their smartphone or tablets which includes Gmail and today the app has reached more than 1 billion downloads and became the first ever app on Play Store to achieve that mark. In one way or another, the 1 billion plus downloads do point to the number of Android users are out there. Google relies on unique accounts that have downloaded the app, instead of individual downloads which would most probably result in a far higher number. Basically, at least a billion accounts have already downloaded this particular app at one point in time or another, and this trend does not seem to stop. Lets see how Gmail app will reach to another milestone of 2 billion or more in the coming future.
