Boeing is one of the largest aircraft makers in the world. They
are teaming up with BlackBerry to create an extremely secure Smartphone being
called Boeing Black. Boeing Black is an Android Handset that is particularly
being designed so it could be used by employees in Security and Defense
sectors. Yes, making a Smartphone is not one of Boeing’s things, but when you
consider they are the second largest defense Contractor in the world it makes some
sense for a defense oriented phone. Additionally, BlackBerry is also known for
focusing on security so this partnership seems quite natural.
The Boeing Black only gives users the ability to change SIM
and no other user-serviceable components are included in it. There are two
slots for SIM, one can be used for regular networks and other for Government
networks. Also the Chassis are completely sealed with epoxy and tamper-proof
screws are used to hold it. If anyone tries to open the phone, all data will be
lost. The CEO of BlackBerry John Chen says they are quite pleased to work with
Boeing to create a secure Android Smartphone using their BES12 Platform.
