While traveling in group the main reason why people
preferred Uber among others is because it lets people share the fares using its
mobile app, feature which was released in July last year. But now people have
two options to decide between as Uber’s Rival Lyft has also rolled out a
similar feature dubbed Split Payment. To use this new feature just launch
Lyft’s mobile application, go to ride options and from there choose “Split
Payment” option. There you can invite up to 5 friends, which are in your
contact list and the invited ones will receive a message asking them to confirm
if they would like to split using their app or if they haven’t downloaded yet
then let them download it. It should be
noted that whenever passengers will use this feature they will have to pay a
fee of $0.25.

This news came just after one month when Lyft launched a new
feature called Driver Destination. With the help of this feature people could
filter riders if they are not going in the direction of the driver. Last month,
the company also launched Lyft to Work feature. With the help of this feature
companies could pay for work-related transportation. Interestingly this feature
also came after Uber launched a feature with same function dubbed Uber for
business.
