In Total number of apps Google Play beats Apple’s App Store

Google Play Store

In 2014, Google Play store faced more than 50% growth and beat Apple’s App store in total number of apps first time last year. The report comes from AppFigures, stating Apple App store had a growth of total 1.21 million apps while Google Play store had a total of 1.43 million apps. After these two, Amazon comes at third place with total 293,000 apps, however, it also faced a growth of total 90% during the last quarter of 2014. The Windows Store was not included in this report and there is good chance it’s because AppFigures are not tracking them.

There had also been quite a growth between the total numbers of app developers for both stores. There are almost   400k developers who are creating apps for Google Play Store and App store comprises of 300k developers. Android now does offer a large number of apps, but still when it comes to revenue, App store still makes more. Android Counterparts of the app manage to gain less money as compared to App store apps.
