Android and iOS are dominating The Smartphone Market at Total 96%

Android and iOS definitely have the biggest share of the market, everywhere you can  always find either Android or iOS phone in peoples’ hand. In rare cases you do see another device, the first thing that comes to mind is “why does he/she has this device?” But, how much share do they actually have? Well, according to IDC report they total 96% of the smartphone market share. Yes, only 4% left to be divided among other companies. In the total 96%, Android has a huge share of 81.5% and iOS shares 14.8%.

While Microsoft and Blackberry come after them with a share of 2.7% and 0.4% respectively. Ramon Llamas IDC research manager says, “Many of the same drivers were in play for Android and iOS to tighten their grip on the market. A combination of strong end-user demand, refreshed product portfolios, and the availability of low-cost devices – particularly for Android – drove volumes higher.”

Even though, Android has the biggest share of the market when it comes to the total number of Smartphones but when it comes to Profits Apple hold 90% of profits in the Industry.
