Cyanogen Doesn’t see bright future for Samsung

If we go just few years back, most people didn’t even had a clue what is Huawei, Xiaomi or Oppo. However, now they all have a big name, maybe not as big as Samsung or Apple but they have managed to make a place in everyone’s mind quite fast and now Kirt McMaster the CEO of Cyanogen thinks that they will even leave behind big companies such as Samsung. McMaster is talking about companies such as Xiaomi which is now 3rd largest smartphone manufacturer just after Samsung and Apple and currently 1st in China market. McMaster said in an interview with Business Insider “The tier-one OEMs like Samsung are going to be the next generation Nokia in the next five years. They’re going to be slaughtered.”

McMaster also doesn’t seem to have good reviews about Apple’s future. “We think long term Apple itself will have problems because they’re just not good at competing at the low end.” If this happens then it will be quite good for Cyanogen as they provide software to these OEMs in order to provide a clearer version of Android.
