Microsoft’s Live Mesh Retiring Officially on February 13th,2013

Microsoft’s Live Mesh , which was one of the best cloud storage back in 2008 and was center of attention for all the Microsoft’s users to store their documents online on the cloud. Microsoft’s Live Mesh was once a fast grab for cloud storage and had millions of users, but now its position has been taken by SkyDrive . Many of the users have now switched to SkyDrive and Live Mesh is now left with 25,000 active users on the service , and these users are also not said to be permanent , they might also switch in future. Looking at this situation , Microsoft has decided to shutdown its Live Mesh service permanently on February 13th 2013 because more than 200 million people are now using SkyDrive and  still more are coming , so Live Mesh with be left with no one in future and its better to shutdown rather than running with 100 people using only.

The remaining people who are still using the Live Mesh service should switch to SkyDrive, as they will soon receive the set of instruction so switch to SkyDrive.

Microsoft has also removed the Live Mesh from Windows Essentials and has replaced it with SkyDrive. One of the good feature of Live Mesh was remote access  which is unavailable on SkyDrive , but Microsoft is still working on some of the features of Skydrive as they have tried to bring some of the features of Mesh on SkyDrive, So lets hope , remote access feature might also come on SkyDrive in Future. Year ago , SkyDrive was just a simple website , but now it has become one of the biggest cloud storage service deeply integrated with Latest Windows 8, Windows RT , Windows Phone 8 and much more .
