Facebook To Roll Out VoIP Calling On Its Android Messenger Secretly

Facebook is secretly going through something productive on its Android messenger. From UK some of the Android users are getting an updated Facebook messenger app for Android that is allowing free VoIP calls to be made. Facebook is now targeting UK for this update as US and Canada have already got this update. This news just came out after when Facebook updated their iOS app in UK with free calling service. UK will be the third country to allow VoIP calling service in its Facebook messenger app. Some of the UK users might be observing this update in their messenger.

Facebook Rolled out Voip calling

The new Facebook free calling feature will just appear alongside the photo and camera buttons. In order to place a call , the user need to select the person whom they need to call. Tap the “i” button on that individual profile and then press the Free Call Button. The call will be placed over the WiFi or using the data connection. If the recipient has Facebook Messenger installed , he will receive a notification allowing him to see who is calling. This will be somewhat same like calling normally over internet but it will be successful if the recipient has the same Facebook messenger installed.

This update is still in testing process because some of the users are receiving error messages using their Android app. This service is limited right now to Facebook Messenger , not to the main Facebook app and some of the users even after the update are not able to use the service properly. So this update is still in beta process as we have mailed Facebook about this problem. Lets wait for their reply and we will update this post when we receive any official message.
