Facebook Videos Might Be The First To Actually Give YouTube Some Challenge

Facebook

Whenever we think about online videos first websites that come to our minds are YouTube, Vine and Dailymotion. However, it seems Facebook has quietly climbed the ranks and is now one of the top destinations for watching, sharing and interacting with videos. In the past year, there has been an increase of 75% in Facebook video uploads by users in the whole world and 94% in the US. Currently, more than 1 billion videos are being watched every single day. On average, more than half of total Facebook users who come back to Facebook daily watch at least 1 video. Furthermore, 76% of Facebook users in America say that they are using Facebook to check out new videos.

These statistics have been taken from a Facebook Post on what the shift to video means for content creators and how they can use it effectively. Facebook encourages users to post videos that are attractive, shareable and unique. So it seems Facebook has a huge focus on its video watching service and there is a good chance we will see some boom in this category. If this keeps happening, then YouTube might face a good challenge in the video watching market.

Mark Zuckerberg Might add a “Dislike” Button to Facebook

dislike

When the “Like” button got introduced to Facebook, obviously its opposite was supposed to be “Dislike” button which should have also been introduced and many users are still asking for it. Despite their efforts and how long it has been since “Like” button got introduced, Facebook still have to implement it. Of course it is more appropriate to dislike a photo, status or video which has upsetting content than actually like it. Well, there is hope as Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg is actually considering this idea. According to Zuckerberg, users told him in feedback that they are not comfortable pressing “like” button in some situations.

However, it might seem easy to just toss the button in, but it is actually more than that. According to Mark Zuckerberg, he is thinking of taking a measured approach to first see how the button will affect the users. At the same time, Zuckerberg also believes that giving users the ability to disagree with something is actually quite a good idea. Of course this doesn’t mean the “Dislike” feature will be added any time in future but still it is positive response on Facebook’s end.

Find Cool places to Visit in any City with Facebook Places

Facebook places

The concept of apps allowing you to find people to do things with or interesting things near your place is becoming quite popular. Now Facebook is also entering this category and not with any additional app, but right from Facebook’s web interface. Using its rich database of places it can provide information regarding good places to visit in a specific city including restaurants, cafes, hotels, public gyms, attractions, schools and much more. For this purpose, Facebook has also launched a dedicated page called FacebookPlaces. There you can enter a city and you will be suggested for places in categories which you can visit. The results will show the highest rated places so it will be easier for you to choose which place suits you best. If you don’t find any of them interesting you can also click ‘See all’ to view all places. Places which your friends reviewed or visited will have more visibility and you can also see the review they have left.

Facebook places provide great incentives for both end users and Businesses. The end users can find great places to visit and business owners can spread their business with good reviews and rating. Businesses will have to rank well on it in order to draw more customers towards their business meaning they have gotten into another race to be the best.

Facebook is making its Privacy Policy Easier to Understand by Dumbing it Down

facebook privacy policy

Facebook is trying to be clearer to help people understand how it collects data of its members. For this reason, Facebook has revealed that it has updated its data use policy, terms of service and cookies policy to make easier for end users to understand. The social media giant also released a tutorial that will help better understand this matter called Privacy Basics. This is a color-coded tutorial that will help users understand how to control their information on Facebook and it is also available in 36 different languages. The tutorial consists of answers to the most commonly asked questions regarding data control information.

Facebook’s previous privacy policy was quite long with total 9000 words, but now the new version consists of the same information but in only 27,00 words. The changes are only in the way Facebook will present its data collection and privacy policy. There are no actual changes in how Facebook will collect data or other privacy settings. Over the next seven days, Facebook is also inviting users to provide feedback on the mentioned changes. After reviewing all the feedback, Facebook will reveal a final version of this information which will take up to 30 days to take effect.

The reason why these changes are taking place is because most of the Americans were feeling that they have no control over their information which was being collected by other companies. Facebook just made it simple for users to understand how their privacy policy settings are and how they collect data works, so users would be able to use Facebook accordingly.

Facebook’s Messenger App exceeds 500 Million Monthly Active Users!

Facebook Messenger app
Facebook shared its Messenger app user number after few months after they stopped the use of Android and iPhone apps for messaging. This led to forcing people to use a standalone app as a messenger. Facebook revealed that each month 500+ million people are using messenger app.  If we compare this to Facebook’s other messaging app Whatsapp, which they acquired in February this year there is only a difference of approximately 100 million users as Whatsapp has 600 million users each month. This number involves all platforms users, Facebook still hasn’t revealed platform specific number, like we don’t know how many messenger app users are on iOS, Android or Windows Phone. The company also stated that the app will continue to "evolve and improve" so we should expect more features adding in future.

The app is currently not making any kind of money for the Social network giant, but they did hire PayPal CEO David Marcus, who might help find a better way to make money out of this. The company also believes that ads are not the best way to earn with this opportunity, they want to use payments as their way for earning money. Facebook aims to go for higher numbers with their Facebook Messenger app, similar to their current Facebook users that are over 1.35 billion monthly active users. Marcus said “We’re going for a billion”.

Rooms Facebook’s New Message Board App for Smartphone

Rooms

Facebook just introduced a new app for iOS users called Rooms. The app functions just like a typical forum, you can create a ‘message board’ and chat with other people with the same knowledge and interest.  The person who will create the Room will be in charge of everything. He can assign moderators, pin posts, set age restrictions and create other rules. Rooms is an independent app even though it is being supported by Facebook still it has nothing to do with Facebook or your Facebook friends. Josh Miller is the product manager of Rooms. He says that the app has same goal as chat rooms or message boards in the past, to chat with people with common interests who they don’t actually know in real life. Though the forums still exist, but still they are not followed much and they are not specifically made for phones.

Just like forums people will be able to use pseudonyms instead of their real names. They will also have to create a new pseudonym for each room they create. Miller became a part of Facebook earlier this year when Facebook acquired Branch. The rumor about miller working on a project kind a like Snapchat was actually Rooms. Rooms will definitely going to be a hit, there aren’t many competitors of this app and it is also being backed-up by the Social networking giant. Providing forum for smartphone with good control over everything is what every smartphone user asks.

How To Make Your Facebook Post Go Viral For Free

If you have an online business than you need web traffic in order to generate leads and earn money or commissions. There are many types of online business which includes E-Commerce, news blogs, e-learning websites, network marketing blogs and much more. Every one who owns online business , there main focus is How to get website traffic, Well in short i would say , It needs time and creative strategies. I have implemented many strategies on my blog and every time when i try a new strategy , the results are always good. So today i have decided to share one of my technique which i implemented to make my website post go viral. When we talk about internet traffic , Facebook and Twitter are among the top social networking websites where different people from all around the world are connected and online business utilize them in order to generate website traffic. So i will share with you a technique which will help you to make your website post go viral on Facebook and even on Twitter.

How to make your Facebook post go viral

This marketing technique is very simple if you know how network marketing business run, Like MLM , Binary system , 3 X 3 Matrix. Now here the question arises, How will this technique work on our Facebook post. Lets first talk about how network marketing business works.

In MLM - Multi Level Marketing a sales man not only earn from his sales but also from his recruited sales persons. In Binary system , you might have heard about tree system and pyramid scheme to earn money , which works on multiplications of your earning , In which a person join a company with just a simple purchase of any product and he can make two of his friends joined under him , same by purchasing the product, When his two friends joins under him , he gets commission of their purchase. After than his two friends have to follow the same thing and make their other friends join under them, In this way , the team grows very fast with multiplication and earnings are also multiplied. This is called binary network marketing. The main strategy which these networking pros follow is the use of " Word Of Mouth ", the same we have to do on Facebook, instead in Facebook we will use " Word of Share "

Now how we can implement these strategies on Facebook and Twitter.

It is simple , like in network marketing business a person is joined by purchasing something, On Facebook , the will not have to buy anything, Just sharing favor, means you have to implement binary or 3 X 3 matrix on your Facebook Post, Lets say you have 100 friends on Facebook , you can ask your 3 close friends to share your post link on their wall and apply the same rule which you are doing , Ask your friends to talk with their 3 close friends who can share the link easily, and again follow the same rule. In this way , you can have a good share rate of your Facebook post.

Now how will you know that your friends and their friends have shared you link , Its simple , if you have a Facebook page of your business,  under your post next to comments and likes button you can see your shares number, Automatically if your Facebook post will be shared among users, your post will be showing shared number. This phenomena is just simple which works on Favor. Pressing a share button is not a big deal for any one, I tried this formula and with the help my 3 friends i was able to share my post among 400 people on Facebook. It may work or it may not , But at least your can give it a try.

Now i would ask the same , any 3 readers who like this post ,[ Please share this post only to your three friends, and ask them to do the same ] , this sentence is very important and everyone who wants to try this technique , should use this sentence otherwise your friend will get confused and your sharing will only be limited to his wall.

Facebook Post Share Audience Set To 'Friends' By Default For New Users

Facebook social media has wide range of audience from all around the world and being a part of this audience, one must make your sure of its privacy settings. A Facebook account having 2 thousands friends is much likely to consider about what to post and what not to post as compare to a account having 20 friends who are trustworthy. Thats why Facebook Share audience settings came into existence where users can set the post audience according to their need which includes "Public", "Friends", "Only Me" and "Custom". Majority Facebook users set their share setting as "Friends" because they don't want there post to be seen by outsider. Taking this scenario into consideration, Facebook has now set the share audience as " Friends" by default for new users who sign up for Facebook.

Facebook share

All the new users who sign up for Facebook will be reminded of their post share setting, if they want to choose their own post share setting, they can do it otherwise the default share audience will be set to "Friends". Before the setting was set to Public, but many new users are not comfortable with this option and if they are not aware of the customized post setting in Facebook , there audience setting was set to "Public". Now Facebook will show up the reminder for new users on Facebook and guide how to deal with other post sharing settings. Facebook is always ahead in privacy settings for its users, before the social giant launched Anonymous login - where user can decide what permission they want to give to an app before signing in to other websites using Facebook login and now the announcement of the default post sharing setting to "Friends", this is all just to make users feel safe while using Facebook social media.

For the billions of already sign up users , Facebook will roll out a expanded privacy checkup tool which will allow them to customize their information. The tool will inform them about what information is to be kept for friends , public and only me. Although Facebook users who like to set their default settings to public should know that this practice is not good  for some confidential piece of your information to be shared public. Don't worry the coming privacy checkup tool will let you know what to share public and what to kept secret.

Public sharing on Facebook is an essential tool for celebrities, public icons, politicians and business. Facebook is a powerful tool for online promotion if you are using it in a right way and for that scenario , Public sharing is the best.

Facebook app store has a variety of interesting applications which the social giant added to provide more entertainment to the users. Majority of the apps are being used by people however few apps are just sitting lonely. Facebook has now decided to delete apps which are not being used by users and the first two applications which will be deleted are Facebook Poke and Facebook Camera App. These two apps were highly used by the users at the initial launch but after a while , they went dark. The reason was due to other creative apps in the market. Rather than enhancing those apps with new features, Facebook has decided to pull them off from the App Store.

Facebook poke app

Facebook Camera App , if you have used, allows users to take photos from their smartphone, edit them in the app and upload directly on their Facebook profiles. Now , a lot of its features are incorporated into main Facebook app and allows users to easily upload their photos. As far as editing is concerned , Users are now mostly downloading the standalone photo editing apps or either tend to use the built-in photo editor which many of the smartphones are installed with

Facebook Poke was also an interesting app which allows users to send messages to one another with a self-destruct timer, just like Snapchat. More users are now shifting to Snapchat due to its great user interface and creative feature , thus making Facebook Poke app fade.

Mark Zuckerberg said at F8 developers conference,

Photo Content On Facebook Accounts For 75 Percent Of Shared Posts By Brands

Facebook content without a photo looks like a drawing without colors, Photos in your Facebook posts gives a life to your shared post and becomes the reason for your friends to read your post. It is same as like a blog post which has a good content but no picture, so it is not likely to becomes readers favorite, however if your post has good pictures in it, readers would love to read your post. Same scenario applies on Facebook post as well. Thats why big brands and companies who have their official page on Facebook, use the smart way to attract their readers attention by sharing photo content. It is estimated that 75 percent of the shared content on Facebook is photo content. On the basis of approximately 1.3 million posts from over 30,000 Facebook brand pages, 75 percent content is photos , only 10 percent are links and 6 percent are status updates. Video marketing is the least which accounts for only 4 percent.

Photo Content On Facebook Accounts For 75 Percent Of Shared Posts By Brands

From my personal experience, i have judged that content which is shared without any photo is most often avoided by readers. One of big technology and social media website, "Mashable" is one of my personal inspired website. When Mashable crossed over 2 million page likes on Facebook, it is big milestone no doubt. so instead of writing the achievement in words on status, the blog made a cover page on its Facebook page , which had a message " Thank You To Mashable's 2 Million Followers". This is a creative way to attract your readers and deliver your messages in the from of Photos.
