YouTube Analytics Added Real Time Reporting

YouTube - the video giant on the internet has added a new real time reporting interface to its data analytics dashboard which will provide minute by minute and hour by hour view counts on the videos posted by the user. The new graph will show view counts on the latest five published videos by default , but it can be expanded more if the user has more published videos. The new YouTube analytics have two graphs :

1 - Hour by hour data for the last 48 hours.
2 - Minute by minute for the past 1 hour.

Both data analytics graphs works on the local time zone of the viewers computer setting and updates automatically without needing to refresh manually. The new report is available for channels , groups with less than 5 videos and content owners. The only thing which still lacks in the new YouTube data analytics is filtering and other customization of data which includes geographic filter, the date picker, download and comparison.

After Twitter Now Comes YouTube Ban In Turkey

You all would be familiar about the news of twitter ban in Turkey, now YouTube is on the turn. Turkish government today has blocked the YouTube access in Turkey at DNS level. The reason was somewhat same, according to Reuters, the leaked recordings of a security meeting were published on YouTube by some anonymous user. For now , the only action which Turkish government took was to block the access to the service but government may lift up the ban if YouTube agrees to remove those official recording meeting videos.The video was an an audio recording of a meeting with Turkey's intelligence chief, the foreign minister and the deputy head of the armed forces to discuss potential military operations against Syria. This is not the first time happening with YouTube in Turkey, back in 2007 also the service was banned in Turkey after videos insulting the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk were posted to the site. No response from YouTube has came yet about the removal of those videos, which might move the Ban to the IP level. Walt Disney Buying YouTube's Largest Network 'Maker Studios' For $500 Million

Microsoft has finally back off from working together with Google for the co development of YouTube application and resorted its previous version of YouTube app. Today Microsoft announced that YouTube application for Windows phone will use the same old version which means if you click a YouTube link in email, MMS messages, etc. it will open YouTube in the browser. In fact, tapping the installed YouTube icon on your phone will simply redirect you to m.youtube.com for that not so premier experience. Facebook, Google,Yahoo,Microsoft And Apple Denied Participation In NSA Data Mining Program

Earlier today The Washington Post reported about NSA PRISM surveillance program which was mining data from leading 9 US Tech companies which includes Facebook, Google , Yahoo, Microsoft, Skype, YouTube, AOL, Pal Talk ,Drop box and Apple. There was no reason for NSA surveillance program provided however it was just to monitor users activity. Techcrunch reported about their conversation between all these companies and posted that Facebook,Google ,Yahoo ,Microsoft and Apple has clearly denied their participation in the NSA data mining program. Techcrunch has not received statements from other companies but will update soon. Following are companies official statements regarding the program .

“Google cares deeply about the security of our users’ data. We disclose user data to government in accordance with the law, and we review all such requests carefully. From time to time, people allege that we have created a government ‘back door’ into our systems, but Google does not have a backdoor for the government to access private user data.”

Facebook

“We do not provide any government organization with direct access to Facebook servers. When Facebook is asked for data or information about specific individuals, we carefully scrutinize any such request for compliance with all applicable laws, and provide information only to the extent required by law.”

Microsoft

“We provide customer data only when we receive a legally binding order or subpoena to do so, and never on a voluntary basis. In addition we only ever comply with orders for requests about specific accounts or identifiers. If the government has a broader voluntary national security program to gather customer data we don’t participate in it.”

Yahoo

“Yahoo! takes users’ privacy very seriously. We do not provide the government with direct access to our servers, systems, or network.”

Apple

Apple’s official statement stated from AllThingsD:

“We have never heard of PRISM. We do not provide any government agency with direct access to our servers, and any government agency requesting customer data must get a court order.”
