The Impact Of Cloud On IT Consumption – Future Of IT Organization

The Internet of everything ,the network connection of people process data and things is transforming our world in profound ways. This revolution and connectivity will give rise to new sources of value for IT organizations in the coming year, and cloud as a democratizing force for IT value will be one of its principles. What would the future look like and what will it mean for IT organizations. Cisco and partnership with Intel surveyed IT leaders to understand how they believe cloud will shape the future of IT organizations. They discovered the Cloud is here and its growing. It already represents a significant share of existing IT expanding. This high level of investment whether in Public, Private or high ring clouds offers tremendous opportunity and challenges. Security is a number one inhibitor of cloud adoption, then there is a complexity of managing third party solutions.

Cloud computing is the future of information technology

A strong majority of IT leaders consider cloud is a good thing. 89% agree that the cloud will have a positive impact on IT departments in the next 3 years. 57% of total respondents see the size of IT increasing ;
Asia Pacific : 80%, Latin America :69%

76% of respondents see their future role as being an orchestrator of internal and external IT services. Many IT leaders view their role evolving to be a broker of new services for the business. The majority of IT leaders ( LOBs) having greater influence over IT bind decisions. ITs partnership with LOBs will be key. Cloud is changing everything. There are five key implications for IT leaders:

1 – The LOBs are wielding influence across the entire IT consumption lifecycle – not just funding.
2- Cloud will unlock employee-led innovation.
3- IT must rethink what it means to partner with business.
4 – Robust security will be key to cloud adoption.
5 – The successful IT leader will navigate change, negotiate complex deals, and manage expectations.
Those who embraced these changes will be valuable architects in the business landscape of the future.
