FCC Planning To Allow Passengers Make Phone Calls During Flights After Reaching 10,000 Feet

After allowing the use of electronic devices like eBooks , Tablets , Laptops , FCC ( Federal Communications Commission ) is planning on some thing more interesting. The agency is calling a meeting in December for the discussion of the plan to “ Allow passengers use cellphones and make phone calls using cellular data while in the air”. Only during the take-off and landing , passenger will be restricted to use cell phones, When the plane would reach 10,000 feet from the ground , Passengers can make phone calls to their loved ones. This plan is interesting but for some people it would be irritating as well. Imagine , You are in a Flight sleeping , and the person next to your is talking to someone on his cellphone with loud voice. it will be irritating. But for some people it is superb, In the Air above 10,000 feet , they can talk to thier friends or relatives.

FCC allowing passenger to make phone calls during flight

This proposal just came out after FAA allowed passengers to use electronic devices. This proposal is not a new strategy, In 2004 , FCC discussed the same idea with the agencies but it was rejected by some Airlines, and the proposal was shutdown giving the reason of “ Lack of Technical information”. Delta Airline oppose to the proposal while JetBlue Airways consider to reevaluate its policy. FCC has not made the final decision yet, The discussion team will set up in December, so lets wait for the results. We will keep you update on this if we get any more information.
