Facebook is now moving towards more personalized features which includes a recent addition of Auto-Play videos. If you use facebook on mobile then you might have noticed that your news feed would be playing videos automatically without even clicking on it. As you know Vine and Instagram videos are ruling on Facebook and users feels like watching every kind of video. So to keep this viewing more convenient, Facebook give a push to its news feed making Auto Play videos directly while scrolling. Previously when you share a video on facebook, from Vine or Instagram , it appears same as Youtube video. In order to watch those videos , you have to click the play button which takes time to load and then play. This new enhancement will automatically play the videos without clicking on them.
I have personally experienced this feature on my iPhone 5 and it works superb. On mobile , Auto-play feature play any videos by themselves and you don't have to think about clicking on the video to play. At first they’ll play in-line even as you scroll, but with no sound. If you tap them, they expand full-screen and the audio kicks in. Videos uploaded to third-party sites retain the old click-to-play-format. If you don’t want to watch the video , you can simply scroll down, the video play will stop automatically.
If users who have limited internet data plan on cellular, they can turn off the auto-play from the Facebook settings in your iOS or Android device, because switching on Auto-Play on Cellular data might burn you Mega bytes as video surfing takes more data. If you use Wi-Fi then this Auto-Play option is perfect for you. If you have experienced Facebook Auto-Play Video on your iOS or Android, share your views in the comments below.
