Facebook On Mobile Accounts For More Than Half Of Ads Revenue
Facebook is widely used on mobile devices nowadays, smartphones have caged users in such a way that users don't want to bother their PCs and laptops for using Facebook. Back in olden days when Facebook was only limited to PCs and laptops, the revenue generated from ads placed on Facebook was big. When the Facebook mobile app came into market, people shifted to smartphones and start using Facebook on mobile devices. Facebook warned its investors , that the shift to mobile devices could lead to a huge loss. But thanks to the programmers and developers who provided a great place for ads to be placed on Facebook on mobile devices. Now, The shift proves to be lucky for Facebook and it is estimated that more than half of Facebook ads revenue is generated form mobile devices. In the fourth quarter of 2013, mobile ads generated $1.2 billion in revenue, accounting for 53 percent of Facebook's ad revenue and 48 percent of the company's total revenue. Even more impressively, mobile ads accounted for more than 90 percent of Facebook's revenue growth compared to last year's holiday quarter. Growing a multi-billion dollar ad business out of small mobile devices in less than two years is a pretty impressive achievement which Facebook's shareholders truly appreciates.
