Facebook Eliminating Chat Feature On Smartphones Forcing Users To Download Messenger App

Facebook Chat Messenger which is a standalone app on iOS and Android devices will soon become the only way to chat with your Facebook friends on mobile devices. Facebook has announced that it will soon remove the in-app chat messenger for mobile devices and prompting users to download the standalone chat messenger for Facebook on their smartphones. It gets annoying sometimes when you are using both ways to chat with your Facebook friends and messages pops up simultaneously on your Facebook chat and messenger , but it seems like now , there will be only one way left to chat with your Facebook friends on smartphones which is 'Facebook Messenger'.

According to Techcrunch, which reported the news first, says that 'Those users will have two weeks to download Messenger before the service within the main app disappears'. One of the spokesmen told Mashable , "Today we are starting to notify people that messages are moving out of the Facebook app and over to the Messenger app, To continue sending messages on mobile, people will need to install the Messenger app."

So users if you are getting notified to download the Facebook messenger on your smartphone, act upon that because Facebook in-app chat feature will be going offline soon. Facebook has not told when the feature will be eliminated however , company will keep reminding users on their smartphones until they don't have Facebook messenger installed on their devices.
