Find My Mobile And Reactivation Lock Anti Theft Features Will Come Pre-Loaded On Samsung Galaxy S5 For Verizon

To overcome this problem and make users safe, Lawmakers are putting pressure on mobile phone makers to eliminate this burden and make the feature pre loaded which could be easily switched on by users without downloading any services. Thats why this time Verizon and Us Cellular has teamed up with Samsung to make Find My Phone and Reactivation Lock ( Anti Theft features ) pre installed on the new Samsung Galaxy S5 which is about to come in just 7 days from now.

To stop criminal for committing smartphone theft, this decision is very good. Samsung Galaxy S5 is the first device which will debut these options pre-installed on verizon and users can activate this feature for free. According to George Gascon San-Francisco District Attorney and Eric T. Schneiderman New York Attorney General in a joint statement released on Friday,

"While we are concerned that consumers will need to opt-in to the system, thereby limiting the ubiquity and effectiveness of the solution, the fact that Samsung and these carriers have agreed to work together to make Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock available sends a strong message that all participants in this industry can indeed work together to make their customers safer"

Find My Phone 

Find My Phone is just similar like Find My iPhone feature in iOS devices which allow users to track their phone if they lost somewhere or it is stolen. Find My Phone tracking system also works int he same that locates the stolen phone and make it locked or wipe it clean to delete users confidential information. Find My Phone feature also alerts the original owner if any other SIM card is stolen in the phone.

Reactivation Lock

Reactivation lock is a  feature that detects the abnormal attempts to reset the phone to factory settings.

According to the consumer reports, Smartphone theft makes 30-40 percent of robberies in USA where San Francisco is at the highest rate of about 66 percent. To reduce this rate , Gascon and Eric have worked hard with the support of mobile phone makers, network carriers, lawmakers and police chiefs to stop the Smartphone Theft crime.
