Sprint Working On New Policy To Make Smartphone SIM Unlocked In 2015

When you have your smartphone and it is carrier locked, it is the most irritating thing. Locked phone means you can only use that smartphone with the carrier from whom you have bought the phone. In US, many people buy contract phones that are locked and can be used only with the specific carrier from whom they are buying. If you buy contract phone from Verizon , you can only use that phone on Verizon, not other carrier, but if you have your smartphone unlocked , you have a variety to switch on different carriers. Carriers like AT&T , T-Mobile and other US carriers offer unlocked phones. Today, one more carrier is being added in the unlocked smartphones list and that is Sprint. The carrier is working on a new policy to make smartphone SIM unlocked by next year.

Carriers are becoming more customer friendly and that what SIM Unlocked smartphone means. Sprints new policy will go effect in 2015 after 11 Feb, meaning the devices which will be launched after 11 Feb 2015 on Sprint carrier will be SIM unlocked. Carriers such as Sprint and Verizon relied on different radios compared to AT&T and T-Mobile (CDMA and GSM respectively), it means that your phone is basically locked to their network, or at least only usable on another CDMA network. By allowing phones to be SIM unlockable, it will allow customers to bring their phones to other networks in the future if that’s what they want. The current available smartphone list will not be made SIM unlcoked due to the way they have manufactured but by next year the batch of fresh new smartphone will be unlockable.
