Samsung Introduces Proximity a Beacon System just like Apple’s iBeacon Technology

Samsung Proximity

Samsung is standing again against Apple and this time Beacon system is the technology to fight over. Apple already had a Beacon system named as iBeacon, but now Samsung is joining the race with its new beacon system called Proximity which will help connect retailers with near customers. The working of beacon system is quite simple. If you are in a retail store and that retailer has a beacon system installed, the store can use the beacon to send information to your phone directly for example, items on sale, clothes with good matching and many more. Samsung Proximity consists of Bluetooth low energy beacons which can work with many other third-party service providers like this including Radius Networks, GigaLane, Roximity and Swirl.

Many functions of the Proximity are same as iBeacon Technology apart from one major difference. Apple’s iBeacon technology works with its app store software while Samsung Proximity actually works on system level. Due to this, Samsung Proximity provides deeper integration and without the use of any app it can still send notifications to the people near. Currently Samsung is accepting partners for its proximity. If some wants to be part of it, they can just go and sign up for it. After signing up, Samsung will provide full solution to it.
