41% of U.S Phablet Sales Consist Of iPhone 6 Plus

iPhone 6 Plus

Smartphones which have relatively larger displays are called ‘Phablets.’ The iPhone line by Apple never reached this category before until this September when they launched iPhone 6 Plus. iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 5.5 inch screen which is why it comes in Phablet category and it also seems it is becoming quite popular in this category. According to Data from Kantar Worldpanel, iPhone 6 Plus accounts for 41% of total Phablets sales in the U.S. The fact that iPhone 6 Plus covers 41% of the phablet market is not the reason why this is interesting. Instead, what makes it interesting is that it has only been three months since it got launched and it already has covered 41% of the phablet market share. Especially when you put it against rivals who are already in this category for a long time.

According to a survey conducted by Kantar, 58% of people who bought iPhone 6 Plus bought it for its Larger display as compared to other iPhones. Because iPhone users always wanted a Larger display in iPhones and were anxiously waiting for it. 41% might be a big number in phablet category, but still iPhone 6 has the highest iPhone sale with 33% of the sales followed by iPhone 5s with 26% and after that iPhone 6 Plus comes with total 10% of iPhone sales in the three months.
