Chicken Breast is a highly recommended food for all people
who are building muscle, trying to lose some weight and people on a strict diet
as it contains least fats comparing to thighs or drumsticks. But the process
for pulling chicken breast from the bone is a difficult task and also leads to
waste of much of the meat. For this purpose, Scientist from Norway has created
a Robot that can easily pluck the chicken breast right from the bone without
wasting any of the meat.
The robot is called “Gribbot” and it is created by the
SINTEF search group as part of the Norwegian CYCLE project. Using Kinect camera
for 3D vision and flexible fingers on a hand, this robot can easily pluck the
chicken breast perfectly unlike human hands. There is also an algorithm that
will help robot to make hand movements according to what it sees in the camera.
However, it is not that much of a surprise as this not the first robot that can
do this. A team over at Georgia Tech has already developed a similar robot that
has potential to completely debone an entire chicken, which gives this robot a
bit less of a surprise factor. But of course it is still quite impressive.
