Iowa is thinking about creating digital Driver Licenses

driver license

When going out at night, it is quite rare to bring everything with you.  Some common things you might want to take along would be your phone, credit card, cash, some kind of ID and that is pretty much it. However, it is important to take all cards with you in order to not get stuck in any situation. So it is quite usual, if you wish for your cards becoming digital for ease and it seems it is becoming true in Iowa. According to a new idea proposed by Iowa, they are thinking of making driver license of the residents of Iowa digital into an app.

The user will be able to install a digital version of the Drivers license into their Smartphones which they can pull out if needed. The implementation of such idea should be an easy task in Iowa as drivers there can already show a digital version of their car’s registration and insurance. Of course, it will need some extra verification and some issue might also occur. For example, the licenses will need to be authenticated, which should be done through fingerprint scan or Facial recognition. They app is being tested in a plot program for six months, if everything will be okay then drivers in Iowa can register for their digital license in mid 2015.
