In Seattle, Amazon customers can now receive a new Local
service from which they can Takeout or receive delivery from different
restaurants in their area. This new feature is still under testing and will let
people choose from different cuisines including Italian, Japanese, Thai and
other regional delicacies in their area with the help of few clicks. For now, total
20 restaurants are delivering and 120 provide takeout service. Amazon
will be working as a middleman to connect customer and the restaurants. People
will be able to conveniently order dishes without any need of going to each
restaurant’s website to browse through the dishes. Everything is divided into
categories like side dishes or beverages making it easier to browse through the
menu of a specific restaurant.
The Amazon Takeout and Delivery service also include other
information that could make it easier for customers to order. It includes,
average waiting time, minimum order required for free delivery and also provide
a synopsis of every restaurant which is working with Amazon. However, for now
this service is only available in Seattle, but it will be expanded to other
areas in the future.
