Microsoft is working on eye tracking Keyboard

microsoft keyboard

Many of us like tapping on the screen while typing and are comfortable tapping keys using their smartphone or tablet. However, there are some who think that using keyboards like Swype is a better and faster way to type. If you don’t know about Swype, it’s a keyboard alternative for normal tapping keyboard which lets you swipe letters with your fingers to type words. Don’t you think it would be quite interesting if you could do the same swiping thing but with your eyes? Well, Microsoft is working on this idea and has recently patented it. It is quite similar to Swype but in this case the movement of the eyes of the user will be tracked so they could provide command from their eyes to swipe out letters.

Now the question is what kind of system could use such feature? Well, the most common would be Head-mounted displays. Like, you can use your Google glass and type out a whole email while using your eyes. It definitely seems a potential idea, but we should keep in consideration that using our eyes to continuously poke on the side to find different words would be quite tiring for the eyes.
