Spanish Publishers want to see Google News back again

Google News

It seems the media over in Spain the Spanish Newspaper Publishers’ Association (AEDE), is missing Google and even intends to talk to the Government of Spain to bring Google News back in Spain. This is coming right after 1 hour when Google decided to shut down its News service. The main reason why Google is shutting down its News service is to avoid any kind of penalty received by the Law which requires all Companies or Organizations to make a payment of article results. The Spanish Newspaper Publishers’ Association (AEDE) says that Google is too strong and was dominating the market so taking such leave is quite bad and it will have a negative effect on both Businesses and even the general public. The AEDE even insists that they have no problem negotiating on this so that Google could comeback and stay.

It is quite interesting how Google presence is so important for the industry. Google started to dominate the market so much that even when it needs to shut down it is quite hard to do. Many are affected by it that could be quite troublesome for the end users and businesses.  The government might even have to bend some rules to keep things going in Google’s case. However, we will have to wait and see what the government does.
