Montblanc Is Making Its Luxury Watches Smarter Using 'e-Strap'

Montblanc e-Strap

Smartwatches are becoming quite popular, but when it comes to being a luxury watch at the same time, not much have been done. Montblanc, a well know luxury watch manufacturer have come up with an idea to offer same luxury feel while providing some tech too. In a blog post Montblanc announced an optional e-Strap which can be equipped with its Timewalker Urban Speed Collection. This add-on can take care of everything a usual wearable can, including activity tracking, audio controls, remote camera trigger, notifications and more. The whole module with its 0.9 inch monochromatic OLED touchscreen is located on the underside of your wrist, held by a leather strap (of course a stylish one) which can connect to your Android or iOS device using Bluetooth.
All the data collected by the module can be seen on a companion app with proper graph and details. According to Montblanc, the device will be able to work five days straight before needing to recharge. We still don’t know when this e-Strap will be launched, but currently the Watch is being sold for €2,990 up to €4,690 (approx $3,319 to $5,675). With the addition of this new tech to the band the watch will cost €250 (about $300) more.
