Snapdragon 810 might be delayed (rumored again)

This year, many of the powerful smartphones will run on Snapdragon 810 and one of the phone has already been introduced, the LG G Flex 2. Just last month there had been some rumors that Qualcomm might not be able to produce Snapdragon 810 chips in time and manufacturers won’t receive it in time for their smartphone manufacturing. This is said to be caused due to some issue with the processor overheating, but Qualcomm said that the production is on track and nothing is wrong. However, this rumor is now again resurfaced and says that Qualcomm has overheating issues with their processors which stops them from going into mass production. The report claims that the problem is with both Snapdragon 615 and 810. It seems that this is caused due to Snapdragon’s 810’s Cortex-A57 cores, which heats up when it goes above 1.2-1.4 GHz frequencies.

According to the report, this problem can persist for as much as 5 months, so if it is true, there is a good chance companies who depend on it for their next phones like Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC Hima and others could face delays. Let’s see what Qualcomm has to say about this new rumor.
