Project Ara is definitely a big project and every Smartphone
enthusiast is waiting for it. There is a good reason why, who would not want a
phone that you can customize according to your demand. The possibilities are
endless with Project Ara and you create and change the functions of your
smartphone according to your requirement. It has also been reported that
Project Ara will appear in MWC 2015 for some more insight on the project. Now
Toshiba is joining up with other players in the project for creating camera
modules for Project Ara.
Toshiba has revealed 3 camera modules for project Ara, one
is a 2MP front camera and other 2 are rear facing cameras. The cameras at the
back come with a resolution of 13MP and 5MP. The size of sensor of 13 MP is
1.12um and for 5MP module it is 1.4um. These parts will go in to mass
production soon and are said to be available for general public by year 2016.
So, you will have to wait quite a lot to actually get the modules and of course
Google’s Project Ara.
