Recently, technology companies are showing great interest in
Auto market. Google has been working quite hard on its Self-driving car
project. After working hard for few years they have even managed make a prototype
which is up and running. They have achieved so much even before the stating of
the competition. Now, it seems Japanese electronics giant Sony also wants to
join the race and take a step in automotives. It has been reported that Sony is
partnering with ZMP, a Start up working on Self-driving cars and Sony is even
ready to invest 100 million Yen in the Start up company. 100 million yen are
roughly equal to $840,000 and with this investment Sony will be able to buy 2%
stake in ZMP.
Both companies will use their specific set of skills to
develop self-driving car technologies. ZMP’s robotics experience and Sony’s
image sensors experience to create the perfect technology. Apple is also
expected to join the race and it has been reported that they are hiring new
talent to work on this new secret project.
