When you in a restaurant, look for a spot with soft natural light. It will really bring out foods natural textures and color. For times when your dinning in a dimly restaurant, do not use your Flash !!. Not only will it annoy other customers but it is the fastest way to make your food look super unappetizing. Instead use what is around you , like if you have small lamp or a candle placed on your table, move that object close to your plate. It will enhance some light. While taking the snap, hold your phone very still to take a good pixel picture. If your phone has HDR , this is best time to use that feature.

Once your lightning is set, its time to think about composition. Most of the people naturally place the plate in the center of frame, but you can get much more compelling photo, if you put your plate of to the side and crop out some of the plate. It is always good to take as many photos as you would like, so you can have a variety to choose from.

The over head angle is best angle to take the photos from, it lets you see everything on the plate. If getting out of your seat in the middle of the restaurant makes you feel like weird, than 3 quarter angle is the best.

Always shoot the photos as soon as your food comes in because when its hot it really looks fresh. After taking cool photos than you can apply some filters using different applications like VSCO cam ( for me ) . It has a good variety of filters to choose from. So apply filter, give a it final polish and upload it to your Instagram or Facebook. Follow these cool tips and let every one be jealous of your food.
