Huawei Committing To Invest Millions For The Next Generation Wireless Network Technology 5G

Huawei – A Chinese Multinational Networking and Telecommunication company which is better known for its mobile devices has announced that the networking giant will be investing millions of dollars in the research and development of the next generation wireless network 5G. We all are familiar with 4G , LTE but 5G technology works 100x faster than 4G networks. The company told that the investment will be almost $600 million ( £370m ) that would carry out over five years. The 5G technology is currently in operation in UK and may be rolled out commercially by the end of the decade.

At 10Gbps (on the 5GHz band), it would be as fast as the backplanes of most servers used in data centers. Beyond speed, Huawei's incumbent CEO, Eric Xu also reckons that the technology will allow even more devices to be connected, many of which being part of the Internet-of-things ecosystem.

Other than Huawei, Samsung and NTT Docomo have also jumped on the 5G bandwagon and late last year, the Chinese company joined forces with Telefonica and Fujitsu to partner on a new £35m 5G research centre in collaboration with the university of Surrey. 5G technology will be a revolution in the internet that will transform the way we search and browse and boost the speed leaving 4G LTE technology behind. But we have to wait a little for this technology to come and definitely 5G smartphones as well to run 5G network.
