World’s Thinnest Tablet iPad Air 2 Revealed By Apple


Apple has just introduced its new version of popular tablets called the iPad Air 2. Apple has made even thinner body and now it is being called the 'World’s thinnest' tablet. Along with thinner body, many new features are added along with enhancing the design and hardware. One of the main features is the introduction of Touch ID fingerprint sensor which is first time introduced in one of Apple’s tablets. Now Developers will be able to use Touch ID for purchases and authentication, which will definitely increase the use of it. Using Touch ID you can use Apple Pay for purchases, whether it is in-app purchase or any physical good.

Though the look is same as its predecessors, the thickness is reduced to 6.1mm from 7.5 as on the original iPad Air making it the World’s thinnest Tablet. It has same display size of 9.7- inch but it should look better on it as Glass, LCD and Touch sensor are now bonded without any air gaps between them. Additionally, Apple also mentioned that they have added an anti-reflective coating on the screen which will help reduce reflections up to 56% percent, so it will be quite easier to use in daylight.  The camera is also being updated in iPad Air 2. It consists of an 8 Megapixel sensor with 1.12 micro pixels and an f2.4 aperture lens. Video can be recorded at 1080p with slow motion feature and photo features consist of Panoramas, burst mode and a time lapse mode which were previously available in iPhones. The front camera also comes with a new sensor and f2.2 aperture lens.

Apple also enhanced the hardware in iPad Air 2. It consists of A8X processor, which is said to be 40% faster than the original iPad Air which had an A7.  It also has 180x graphics performance of the original iPad Air. The battery life of the tablet will be 10 hours and also has a much faster Wi-Fi speed, supporting 802.11ac Wi-Fi. iPad Air 2 will come with Apple’s latest iOS 8.1 which has some additional features. It will come in gold, silver and gray colors and it is the first time that Apple is offering gold as a color option.  At the start it will be sold for $499 for the16 GB models and with extra storage, 64GB selling for $599 and 128GB for $699.
