If a Newspaper account is not blocked on Twitter Turkey will ban it

The Turkish Government is once again showing hatred towards Twitter. They are threatening twitter that they will ban it in their country if they will not block a specific newspaper account (BirGun) which is posting leaked documents that involve truth about a raid on an Intelligence agency convoy. Twitter along with other social network sites have agreed to only delete individual files not the whole account, but for Turkish government this is not enough. They believe that these media outlets are actually interfering with national security and investigation also.

We still don’t know how Twitter will respond to this matter but the company did tell the New York Times that it will “work diligently” to make sure Twitter service is available to Turkish people and at the same time their rights are safe. Of course, it won’t be that easy as it might sound. Turkey have always been looking for reasons to ban twitter and there it seems there is no other way to keep the account live and at the same time twitter available to the residents. Either account will be blocked or residents will have to bear the cost.

Twitter says, to build a better experience on the microblogging service they are going to track the list of apps which are installed in the user’s mobile device. The company claims that they will only collect information on the list of apps installed in the phone not the data which is inside those apps. The data collected from the devices will be used to provide improved ‘who to follow’, adding accounts, tweets and other content that company believes the user will definitely find interesting and will help show content which is relevant. In a blog post Twitter said on the matter "We are collecting and occasionally updating the list of apps installed on your mobile device so we can deliver tailored content that you might be interested in".

You will be notified about this feature when it will be turned on. A prompt will be shown saying to help tailor your experience, Twitter uses the apps on your device. Furthermore, if you are not interested in this Twitter tracking feature and don’t want twitter to keep track of your app list, you can always turn the feature off. A new malware attack has came to our knowledge that is directly hacking users Facebook , Twitter and Google+ accounts though their browsers via Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox plugins. This is a fake extension for Chrome and Firefox which hijacks the users personal accounts.
